well, the weather has finally caught up with the season...it's SUMMER & it's HOT!!  i bought the kids a little wading pool to put in the backyard, just something to try to keep them cool.  jocelyn has enjoyed it the most...she's been having tons of fun splashing around in her little pool.  it's amazing how a $10 kiddie pool can put such a HUGE SMILE on her sweet little face.  check this out:

i'm just glad that she's able to get outdoors & have some fun.  it's been so hot & sunny lately & i always worry about her getting heat exhaustion or a sunburn.  but this little pool has been great fun & entertainment for her.  i love seeing how happy she gets just splashing around in the water.  maybe by this time next year i will have FINALLY convinced john into getting the pool of our dreams...or at least one that the entire family can enjoy.  (these tiny little wading pools aren't cutting it for me...LOL!!)

Logan is 6 Today!!!

Since today is Logan's 6th birthday, i've made a list of my 6 FAVORITE things about this sweet child, so here goes:

1.  i LOVE that Logan is a ROCKSTAR in every sense of the word

2.  i LOVE that he wants to be just like his big brother & looks up to him so much...especially when it comes to BASEBALL

3.  i LOVE that he's a good helper around the house...w/out even having to be asked to clean up after himself he just does it

4.  i LOVE when he helps me cook/bake in the kitchen...he's quite the little chef...lookout Bobby Flay, there's a new kid in town

5.  i LOVE Logans' precious baby blues, his eyes are gorgeous...everyone thinks he got them from his daddy, but i have blue eyes too...so i'll take half the credit for those

6.  last but not least, i LOVE his tenderness & compassion he has towards his sister...i LOVE when he makes her laugh & i LOVE his sweet nature

River Valley Nature Center

It's been awhile since i've posted...thought i should catch everyone up on what we've done in the past, say month or so...LOL!!  ok, i've just been super busy :)

well, i took the kiddos to the Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center one day during their Spring Break.  they LOVED it...even devin!!  it was the 1st time that we've been & we will definitely be going back.  what a fun way to spend an afternoon, & on a budget at that...which i love!

anyways, if you've never been, you should go.  it's got a nice museum type area & some hiking/walking trails as well.  a small lake you can fish in or even rent a canoe.  check out these pictures i took while we were there:

today jocelyn & i had to run to wal-mart to get a few things & i just couldn't resist taking her thru the TOY SECTION.  well, i sure am glad i did...i found these super cute polka-dotted balls for only $2.50!!!  so, of course i got one for her & logan.  man did they have a good time today playing in the backyard w/ these huge bouncy balls.  i LOVED watching jocelyn play...she had so much fun!!  i could not resist getting a few pictures of her & logan...i think they turned out really cute.

i cannot begin to explain how much i LOVE that my 2 youngest still find so much fun & happiness in playing w/ inexpensive toys such as backyard bouncy balls.  my "soon to be teenager" would rather me bring home an iTunes card as his "special prize" for the day.  i miss him being so easy to please!!  at least i still have a few more years of easy pleasing out of jocelyn & logan :)  they appreciate my clever little gifts!

i enjoyed today's simplicity...i hope we can have several more happy, carefree days during the kiddos' SPRING BREAK!!!  we really don't have any big plans, just taking a break from the busy hectic rush of daily life will be just fine w/ me :)

ok, so jocelyn did get to enjoy the snow for a little bit.  i just could not resist getting her out it in for some pictures :)  she seemed to love it, until she finally realized how COLD it really was out there. i'm just glad that i was able to get some pictures of her in the snow, especially since oklahoma does not usually get big snows like we've had this year.  i think the kids have missed a total of 7 days of classes so far...hopefully we are at the end of all the SNOW DAYS for this school year...i've had enough!!! hope you enjoy the pictures of jocelyn, i think they are super sweet!!!
